Music from the Foothills of Tibet

February 8th and 9th the music and dance of the Tibet, Dai, Wa and Hani peoples will be performed in Tallinn. Come enjoy the cultures from the foothills of Tibet!Saturday, February 8 at 19:00, free concert in Tallinn Methodist Church, Narva mnt. 51Sunday, February 9 at 10:00 and 12:00 they will perform during the Oleviste Church worship services.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS: CCAM is a young professional artistic ansambel from Kunming in China's Yunnan province and includes musicians, dancers and filmakers. CCAM is based in TCG Nordica cultural center, a joint Scandinavian - Chinese centre with a vision of "Stimulating reflection on Human Worth as expressed in various Art Forms.” During the concert, the musicians will be playing traditional instruments (Er Hu, Pi Pa, Xun, Zhu Di, Hiao, Gu Zhen, Gu Qing jt) as well as western instruments. .Special guest is Swedish artist Janerik Johansson who has studios in TCG Nordica in China as well as in Malmö, Sweden. Janerik Johansson has worked full time as an artist since 1968. He has had more than 150 solo exhibitions in 15 countries and received numerous awards for his work, including from St. Petersburg’s Russian State Museum in 1992. Janerik Johansson will give a short presentation of his work and his artistic co-operation with China during the concert in Tallinn. .Tallinn is the final stop on CCAM's northern European tour which has taken them also to Norway, Denmark and Sweden.
The concert is free, however an opportunity will be given to make a donation to the work of their cultural centre. |
